The wind vector on the HSI is very useful in any phase of flight
where winds aloft should be taken into account. A combination
of the wind vector and projected track line can be used to your
advantage in navigation tasks. A very useful technique is to align the
projected track line with the desired course. This will take the guess
work out of determining proper crab angles for wind corrections.
