Why can't I access the Axis Camera Station website after creating a user?
    • H
      Hunter NavarroAug 22, 2025
In some cases, you might not be able to log in to the Axis Camera Station website even with a created user. This can occur on Windows XP because IIS might grant only guest access. To resolve this, grant the guest account the necessary access in the AXIS Camera Station Administration. Alternatively, go to Control Panel > Administrative tools > Local Security policy. Then, select Local policies > Security Options > Setting for network access and choose Classic - user acts as itself.

      Robert JohnsonSep 5, 2025
If you're not getting an image from the camera in Axis Camera Station, the issue might be missing decoders. Proper decoders must be installed for MPEG-4 and H.264 video formats. In licensed mode, click on the link provided where the camera’s Live View should be to launch the installation of codecs. In AXIS Camera Station One or Demo mode, download the proper codecs from the camera’s Live View page.

      Charles ReynoldsSep 2, 2025
If AXIS Camera Station Server is unable to verify message security, it means that the clocks on the server and client are not synchronized. To fix this, adjust the clock on either the server or client so that they have the same date and time. For more information on setting the time on your computer, consult the Windows help files.

To prevent hard disks from filling up or recordings not being saved in Axis Camera Station, set the 'Maximum drive space used' under Options > General Settings > Recording Database. You can also minimize hard disk usage by setting the 'Save event in days'. Consider adjusting frame rate, compression, and image size to reduce storage needs.
