Configureyourdevice
Therearetwowaystodothis:
•Usethebuilt-inRadarautotracking.UsethisoptionwhenyouhaveonePTZcameraandoneradarmountedvery
closetogether.Thisoptioncreatesanedge-to-edgesolutionwheretheradardirectlycontrolsthecamera.Thebuilt-in
radarautotrackingservicesupportsallAxisPTZcameras.
1.GotoSystem>Radarautotracking.
2.Clickonlegacywebclienttoopenthelegacydeviceinterface.
3.EntertheIPaddress,usernameandpasswordforthePTZcamera.
4.ClickConnectandfollowtheinstructions.
Note
Thecameramustbeinstalleddirectlyaboveorbelowtheradar.
Theapplicationdoesnotusescenarios(previouslycalledincludezones)thathavebeensetupintheradar.Itusestheentire
radarcoverage,exceptexcludezones,todetectmotion.
•UsetheWindows
®
applicationAXISRadarAutotrackingforPTZ,tousemultiplePTZcameraswithmultipleradars.
DownloadAXISRadarAutotrackingforPTZfromaxis.com,andfollowtheinstructionsintheapplicationtoinstalliton
yourVMSserver(oranothercomputerwithaccesstoboththecameraandtheradar).

Thisisaserver-basedsolutionthatcanhandledifferentsetups:
-ControlseveralPTZcameraswithoneradar.

-ControlonePTZcamerawithoneradarwhentheyaremountedindifferentpositionscoveringthesamearea.
Note
UseanNTPservertosynchronizethetimeonthecameras,radarsandtheWindowscomputer.Iftheclocksareoutofsync,
youmayexperiencedelaysinthetracking,orghosttracking.
Minimizefalsealarms
Ifyounoticethatyougettoomanyfalsealarms,youcanlteroutcertaintypesofmovementorobjects,changethecoverage,or
adjustthedetectionsensitivity.Seewhichsettingsworkbestforyourenvironment.
•Adjustthedetectionsensitivityoftheradar:
GotoRadar>Settings>DetectionandselectalowerDetectionsensitivity.Thisdecreasestheriskoffalsealarms,but
itcouldalsocausetheradartomisssomemovement.
Thesensitivitysettingaffectsallzones.
-Low:Usethissensitivitywhentherearealotofmetalobjectsorlargevehiclesinthearea.Itwilltakelongertime
fortheradartotrackandclassifyobjects.Thiscanreducethedetectionrange,especiallyforfastmovingobjects.
-Medium:Thisisthedefaultsetting.
-High:Usethissensitivitywhenyouhaveanopeneldwithoutmetalobjectsinfrontoftheradar.Thiswill
increasethedetectionrangeforhumans.
