EnableShockDetectionfromtheDetectorsmenu.Shockdetectionisused,forexample,togenerateanalarmiftheproductishit
byanobjectoriftheproductistamperedwith.
UsetheShocksensitivityslidertoadjustthesensitivitylevelatwhichtheproductshouldsendanalarm.Lowsensitivityvalue
impliesthattheproductwillgenerateanalarmonlyifthehitispowerful.Ahighsensitivityvalueimpliesthattheproductwill
generateanalarmevenwithmildtampering.
Aboutmotiondetection
Motiondetectionisusedtogenerateanalarmwhenevermovementstartsorstopsinthecameraview.
Motiondetectionisconguredbydeningupto10IncludeandExcludewindows:
Includewindowsdeneareaswheremotionshouldbedetected
ExcludewindowsdeneareaswithinanIncludewindowthatshouldbeignored(areasoutsideIncludewindows
areautomaticallyignored).

Tocontrolthenumberofmotiondetectionalarms,theparametersObjectSize,HistoryandSensitivitycanbeadjusted.See

Oncemotiondetectionwindowsarecongured,theAxisproductcanbeconguredtoperformactionswhenmotionisdetected.

Usingthemotiondetectionfeaturemaydecreasetheproduct’soverallperformance.
ThepositionoftheMotionDetectionWindowisrelativetotheorientationoftheCamera.Changingtheorientationofthe
camerawillalsochangethepositionoftheMotionDetectionWindow.
Howtosetupmotiondetectionwindows
TosetupamotiondetectionIncludeWindow,followtheseinstructions:
1.GotoDetectors>MotionDetection.
2.SelecttheCongureIncludedWindowsoptionandclickNew.Selectthenewwindowinthelistofwindowsand
enteradescriptivename.
3.Adjustthesize(dragthebottomright-handcorner)andtheposition(clickonthetextatthetopanddragtothedesired
position)ofthewindow.
4.AdjusttheObjectSize,HistoryandSensitivityprolesliders(seeAboutmotiondetectionparametersonpage30for
details).AnydetectedmotionwithinanactivewindowisindicatedbyredpeaksintheActivitywindow.
5.ClickSave.
Toexcludepartsoftheincludewindow,selecttheCongureExcludedWindowsandpositiontheexcludewindowwithinthe
includewindow.
Todeleteanincludeorexcludewindow,selectthewindowinthelistofwindowsandclickDel.
