BenetfromIRlightinlow-lightconditionsbyusingnightmode
Yourcamerausesvisiblelighttodelivercolorimagesduringtheday.Butasthevisiblelightdiminishes,colorimagesbecomeless
brightandclear.Ifyouswitchtonightmodewhenthishappens,thecamerausesbothvisibleandnear-infraredlighttodeliverbright
anddetailedblack-and-whiteimagesinstead.Youcansetthecameratoswitchtonightmodeautomatically.
1.GotoVideo>Image>Day-nightmode,andmakesurethattheIR-cutlterissettoAuto.
2.Tosetatwhatlightlevelyouwantthecameratoswitchtonightmode,movetheThresholdslidertowardBrightorDark.
3.Tousethebuilt-inIRlightwhenthecameraisinnightmode,turnonAllowilluminationandSynchronizeillumination.
Note
Ifyousettheswitchtonightmodetooccurwhenit’sbrighter,theimageremainssharperasthereislesslow-lightnoise.If
yousettheswitchtooccurwhenit’sdarker,theimagecolorsaremaintainedforlonger,butthereismoreimageblurdue
tolow-lightnoise.
Reducenoiseinlow-lightconditions
Toreducenoiseinlow-lightconditions,youcanadjustoneormoreofthefollowingsettings:
Adjustthetrade-offbetweennoiseandmotionblur.GotoVideo>Image>ExposureandmovetheBlur-noisetrade-off
slidertowardLownoise.
Note
Ahighmaxshuttervaluecanresultinmotionblur.
Toslowdowntheshutterspeed,setmaxshuttertothehighestpossiblevalue.
Ifpossible,opentheaperture.
Handlesceneswithstrongbacklight
Dynamicrangeisthedifferenceinlightlevelsinanimage.Insomecasesthedifferencebetweenthedarkestandthebrightest
areascanbesignicant.Theresultisoftenanimagewhereeitherthedarkorthebrightareasarevisible.Widedynamicrange
(WDR)makesbothdarkandbrightareasoftheimagevisible.
1.GotoVideo>Image>Widedynamicrange.
2.UsetheLocalcontrastslidertoadjusttheamountofWDR.
3.UsetheTonemappingslidertoadjusttheamountofWDR.
4.Ifyoustillhaveproblems,gotoExposureandadjusttheExposurezonetocovertheareaofinterest.

Verifythepixelresolution
Toverifythatadenedpartoftheimagecontainsenoughpixelsto,forexample,recognizelicenseplates,youcanusethepixel
