MODELS 2550/2550T MAINTENANCE
1. Grease swing pivot assembly bushings:
Grease the top and bottom swing pivot assembly
bushings with 1 to 2 shots of EP-2 Lithium type
grease. Wipe o󰀨 excess grease. Excessive grease
will attract dirt.
2. Grease steering axle pivot bushings (Model 2550):
Grease steering axle pivot bushings with 1 to 2 shots
of EP-2 Lithium type grease. Wipe o󰀨 excess grease.
Excessive grease will attract dirt.
3. Grease steering bushings (Model 2550):
Grease steering bushings with 1 to 2 shots of
EP-2 Lithium type grease. Wipe o󰀨 excess grease.
Excessive grease will attract dirt.
4. Grease cylinder lug pin bushings:
Grease cylinder lug pin bushings with 1 to 2 shots of
EP-2 Lithium type grease. Wipe o󰀨 excess grease.
Excessive grease will attract dirt.
5. Grease swing out pivot bushings:
Grease swing out pivot bushings with 1 to 2 shots of
EP-2 Lithium type grease. Wipe o󰀨 excess grease.
Excessive grease will attract dirt.
6. Lubricate all steel friction areas::
Lubricate all steel friction areas including , but not
limited to pivoting, hinged, sliding, rotating areas on
the machine (i.e. cutter wheel guard, control box
doors, etc.).
7. Check the cutter wheel hydraulic motor coupler:
Remove the cover plate over the cutter wheel
hydraulic motor coupler and check the torque of the
coupler bolts, see Torque Chart.
8. Check and retighten tank mount bolts:
Check and retighten the fuel tank and hydraulic tank
mount bolts.
9. Check alternator and fan belts on engine (as
applicable):
Adjust and maintain per the engine manufacturer’s
manual.
10. Check wheel lug nuts (Model 2550):
Keep lug nuts tight, retorque, replace if needed.
WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
1. Grease grading blade bushings (if equipped):
Grease grading blade bushings with 1 to 2 shots of
EP-2 Lithium type grease. Wipe o󰀨 excess grease.
Excessive grease will attract dirt.
2. Lubricate cutter wheel engagement lever cable:
Lubricate cutter wheel engagement lever cable and
cable ends with a cable lube or SAE 10W/30 oil.
Replace cutter wheel engagement lever cable if it
doesn’t operate smoothly.
3. Check hydraulic function pressures:
Check, reset and maintain all hydraulic function
pressure settings to a maximum of the specied
PSI (bar). This will give you the best performance
from the hydraulic system.
MONTHLY MAINTENANCE
1. Grease steering wheel hub bearings (Model
2550 with 2 Wheel Drive):
Inspect and clean the steering wheel hub bearings,
cups, and seals. Replace seals if ever removed.
Replace bearings and cups as needed. Grease the
wheel bearings with an EP-2 Lithium type grease.
Remove rubber plug and pump grease into E-Z Lube
zerk until all of the old grease is pumped out of the
dust cap. Wipe o󰀨 excess grease. Excessive grease
will attract dirt.
2. Fuel tank:
Drain and clean the fuel tank yearly.
3. Hydraulic oil:
Change hydraulic oil and ush the hydraulic reservoir
tank.
4. Hydraulic suction screen(s):
Change hydraulic suction screen(s) yearly or every
2000 hours.
YEARLY MAINTENANCE
1. Hydraulic oil lter(s):
Must be replaced after FIRST 10 HOURS OF
OPERATION, USE A 10 MICRON FILTER. After rst
change replace oil lter every 3 months or 400 hours.
