Based on national requirements, no person is allowed to enter the projected beam within the zone between the projection lens and
the related hazard dis tance (HD). This shall b e ph
ysically impossible by c reating sufficient separation height or by placing barriers.
The minimum separation height takes into acc ount the surface upon which persons are assum ed to stand.
On image 1-1 a typical setup is d isplayed. It m ust be verified by the installer if these m inimum requirements are met. If required a
restricted zone (RZ) in the theater m ust be established. This can be do ne by using physical barrier, like a red rope a s illustrated in
image 1-2.
