General
The
Intentional One-Engine-
Inoperative Speed
is
a speed above
both VMCA and stall speed, selected to
provide a margin of lateral and direc-
tional control when one engine is sud-
denly rendered inoperative. Intentional
failing of one engine below this speed
is
not
recommended. I
Maneuvering Speed
is
the maximum
speed at which application of full avail-
able aerodynamic control
will not over-
stress the airplane.
Design Flap Speed is the highest speed
permissible at which wing flaps may be
actuated.
Maximum Flap Extended Speed is the
highest speed permissible with wing
flaps
in
a prescribed extended position.
Maximum Landing Gear Extended
Speed
is
the maximum speed at which
an airplane can
be
safely flown with the
landing gear extended.
Maximum Landing Gear Operating
Speed
is
the maximum speed at which
the
landing gear can
be
safely ex-
tended or retracted.
Never Exceed Speed
is
the speed limit
that
may not
be
exceeded at any time.
