Handling and Operation
Operating Fields
The device has ve operating elds:
Touch the manual eld (2) to start and stop the brewing process. Once the required
amount of espresso / coffee has run into the cup, touch the eld
again. The device
stops and no more water runs through the porta lter. Max. brewing time: 90 seconds.
Press the steam eld (3) to activate or deactivate steam mode.
Touch the On / Off eld (4) to switch the device on and off (touch for approx. 3seconds).
The eld lights up a little when the device is connected to the mains power and brightly
when the device is switched on.
Press the double espresso eld (10) to start the brewing process for two small or one
double espresso.
Press the espresso eld (11) to start the brewing process for an espresso.
When a function is selected, the display (12) and the corresponding operating eld lights up
during the brewing process. All operating elds light up again after the end of the brewing
process.
Display
The display (12) only switches on during the brewing process and indicates how long (in seconds)
the espresso has already progressed.
Brewing Time
The brewing time for the Espresso or Double espresso functions can be individually adjusted:
1. Touch the eld
(11) for approx. 3 seconds until it ashes.
2. Place a cup on the storage plate (f) under the porta lter.
3. Touch the eld
to start the brewing process. The brewing time is shown on the dis-
play(12).
4. Touch the eld
again when the desired brewing time (max. 45 seconds) has been
reached. The new brewing time is then saved.
The brewing time for the Double espresso function changes automatically! With a setting
of 35 seconds for Espresso, Double espresso then lasts 70 seconds.
This also works the other way round: If the brewing time for the Double espresso function
is changed to 50 seconds for example (max. 90 seconds possible), the time for Espresso is
automatically halved to 25 seconds.
For the best avour, we recommend avoiding a brewing time of more than 35 seconds per
espresso as it may become bitter if the brewing time is too long.
