3. Place the sieve insert you want (b / c) into the porta lter (d) (see the “Handling and Oper-
ation” chapter – “Inserting / Removing the Sieve Insert” and following sections).
4. Insert the porta lter into the device (see the “Handling and Operation” chapter – “Insert-
ing the Porta lter into the Device”).
5. Place a suitable cup on the storage plate (f) under the porta lter.
6. Switch on the device by touching the eld
(4). The other operating elds light up and
ash. The device starts the heating process. As soon as all operating elds are permanently
lit, the device is preheated.
7. Touch the eld
(2). The device starts to pump water out of the water tank.
The display (12) switches on.
8. When roughly one to two cups have run through, touch the eld
again to stop the
water. The pipes and the porta lter are now also preheated.
9. Remove the sieve insert carefully.
10. Pour away the water from the cup.
Preparing Espresso or Coffee
1. Fill the sieve insert (see the “Handling and Operation” chapter – “Inserting / Removing the
Sieve Insert” and following sections).
Use nely ground espresso powder for making espresso to achieve an optimum crema.
2. Insert the porta lter into the device (see the “Handling and Operation” chapter – “Inserting
the Porta lter into the Device”).
3. Place one or two cup(s) on the storage plate (f) under the porta lter.
With two cups make sure that they are each positioned next to each other below an
outlet (8) under the porta lter.
4. Start the brewing process by touching the eld you want (see the “Handling and Operation”
chapter – “Operating Fields”). The device starts the brewing process, and water runs through
the porta lter into the cup(s). The brewing time is shown on the display (12).
With the Espresso and Double espresso functions, the device stops automatically and no more
water runs through the porta lter. With the Manual function, the brewing process needs to be
stopped by touching the eld
(2) as soon as the desired amount of espresso / coffee has
been reached.
5. If you no longer wish to use the device, touch the eld
(4) for approx. 3 seconds.
The device switches to stand-by mode.
If the device is not switched off manually, after 25 minutes it automatically switches to
stand-by mode.
