Inserting / Removing the Sieve Insert
Insert the corresponding sieve insert (b / c) into the porta lter (d). When you insert it,
make sure that the small locking lug on the sieve insert ts in the recess on the porta lter.
Otherwise the sieve insert cannot be inserted (Picture B).
To remove the sieve insert from the porta lter, turn the locking lug on the sieve insert
towards the recess on the porta lter. Then pull the sieve insert out upwards.
Filling Sieve Inserts
1. After inserting the sieve insert in the porta lter (d) (see “Inserting / Removing the Sieve
Insert), use the measuring spoon(a) to ll it with espresso / coffee powder.
With espresso / coffee powder, make sure that the sieve insert is not over lled (note the
MAX marking)!
2. Use the pressing aid (a) to press down the espresso / coffee powder in the sieve insert.
3. Remove excess espresso / coffee powder from the rim of the porta lter.
Inserting the Porta lter into the Device
1. Hold the lled porta lter (d) rmly by the handle and insert it under the label INSERT
into the porta lter mount (9).
2. Turn the porta lter to the right until it is under the label
LOCK.
Removing the Porta lter from the Device
1. Hold the porta lter (d) by the handle and turn it to the left until it is under the label
INSERT.
2. Pull the porta lter down out of the device.
Emptying the Sieve Insert
1. Flip up the small lever on the handle of the porta lter (d). It stops the sieve insert (c) being
able to fall out when it is emptied (Picture C).
2. Tap out the porta lter over a dustbin.
3. Flip the small lever back and remove the sieve insert from the porta lter (see the “Inserting /
Removing the Sieve Insert” section).
4. Clean the sieve insert (see the “Cleaning and Care” chapter).
