Reagent Level Sensors
You have attempted to perform an automatic distillation
and the automatic level sensors do not find sufficient
reagent in one or more containers.
This error message can be generated in response to
several situations.
Using the MAIN SWITCH (3.15), turn the steam distilla-
tion apparatus off.
In the event that you are not using the behr KAS
40
canister set:
Turn the apparatus on again using the
MAIN SWITCH.
First select Options in the main menu and then
select Device in the sub-menu.
Select CONTAINERS and change the setting to
OFF.
Select <<== to return to the main menu.
In the event that you are using the behr KAS
40 can-
ister set:
First, verify that all four plugs of the cables from the
level sensors are properly inserted into the sockets
on the central junction box.
Next, insure that the plug on the cable of the central
junction box is securely inserted into the socket labeled
LEVEL DETECTORS on the rear of the S 5.
Check the levels of reagents in the canisters.
If the level of liquid in the canister for sample waste
is too high, then dispose of the waste liquid properly.
If the fill-level of liquid in the reagent or distilled
water canisters is too low then refill the canisters, as
needed.
Turn the apparatus on again using the
MAIN SWITCH.
Titration Vessel is Full
You have attempted to execute a distillation program,
but the level sensors in the lid of the titration vessel are
signalling that the vessel is full. Distillation is aborted.
If the titration unit has already been started, abort the
titration.
Press the operating control knob to acknowledge the
error message. The S 5 display will return to the main
menu.
Select Options and then Manual Entry.
Select ==>> and then Drain Titr.Unit.
Keep the operating control knob pressed until the tira-
tion vessel has been emptied.
To prevent the tiration vessel from going full again,
you should modify the distillation program you are
using. Increase the entry for DrainTitr. See Modify-
ing a distillation program on page 14.
If the contents of the titration vessel are not drained
on Drain Titr.Unit, the pump or the pump tubings may
be faulty. Contact your behr service center.
If the error message appeared but the vessel was
not nearly full
, the level sensors may be faulty. Contact
your behr service center.
