Tools needed
You will need the following tools to install the fan. If you are installing an outlet box, additional tools
may be necessary. Consult the outlet box manufacturer’s instructions.
• Ladder
• Hex key (provided)
• Wire stripper
• Adjustable wrench
• #1 Phillips screwdriver
Preparing the mounting location
For mounting methods not covered in this manual, contact Haiku Customer Service.
If you are mounting your fan to a ceiling-mounted outlet box, the outlet box must be UL-listed and
marked “Acceptable for Fan Support.” If there is not a UL-listed outlet box at the location where you
are installing your fan, one must be installed on a ceiling joist or beam and properly wired. At least 8”
(20 cm) of wiring should be hanging from the outlet box. The illustration below shows a typical outlet
box used for fan installations.
