If you re pla ce the re cei ver whilst the loud spea ker is ac ti vat ed, the re cei ver and loud spea ker are de ac ti vat ed.
Hands free
When using hands free, the re cei ver is not used. The built-in mi cro pho ne and the loud spea ker are ac ti vat ed. This can
only be ope ra ted by using the loud spea ker / hands free but ton. You can switch to nor mal »re cei ver mode« whilst in
hands free mode by lif ting the re cei ver. If you want to switch to hands free mode when in nor mal »re cei ver mode«, re -
pla ce the re cei ver whilst pres sing the loud spea ker / hands free but ton. In hands free mode, acous tic sig nals such as
the call wai ting sig nal are not trans mit ted.

Using the headset

You can use eit her the re cei ver or the he ad set to make a call.

In or der to ope ra te the he ad set, a sys tem te le pho ne functi on key shall be set up in the form of a he ad set key. The LED
as sig ned to this but ton in di ca tes whet her the he ad set is swit ched on or off (LED on/off).

Announcement
The an noun ce ment functi on al lows the in ter nal con nec ti on to ot her te le pho nes wit hout them ha ving to ac ti ve ly ac -
cept this con nec ti on (i.e. lift re cei ver, switch loud spea ker/hands free on). This is a one-si ded con nec ti on in which
only the ex ten si on in itia ting the an noun ce ment is he ard.
As soon as a te le pho ne has ac cep ted the an noun ce ment, the con nec ti on is estab lis hed. With an an noun ce ment, en ter
the in ter nal num ber of the de si red ex ten si on. Even if the re is an au to ma tic out si de line, you must only en ter the in ter -
nal num ber. E.g. »22« instead of »*22«.
If your sys tem te le pho ne is the des ti na ti on for an an noun ce ment, the call num ber of the an noun cer ap pe ars on the
dis play. The an noun ce ment can be ter mi na ted with the E key.
The an noun ce ment is ac cep ted au to ma ti cal ly by ac ti va ting the »loudspeaker« function, if:
· the sys tem te le pho ne is idle.
· the an noun ce ment is per mit ted in the PABX (can be con trol led by the »En ab ling in ter -
com« functi on key).
· the »Do not dis turb« functi on is not ac ti ve.
