38. Locate the printer cable that now protrudes from the large shelf side cable hole and plug it into the
CPU printer port.
39. Unpack the speakers and place them on the large shelf. Connect the double cable from the rear of the
CPU speaker connector (the connector next to the 9-pin DIN connector.)
40. Connect the phone jack.
41. Connect the free end of the double cable to the input connector on the speaker.
42. Run the single cable from the right speaker to the left speaker. Plug the speaker power pack into the
power strip. Now run the cable up through the hole with all the other power cords. Pull the cable
out the vertical hole and connect it to the speaker power input connector.
43. Unpack the MCA box and power cord. Route the male end of the power cord over the MCA shelf
and down through the MCA shelf cable hole. Plug the cord into the power strip. Allow the female
end of the power cord to protrude from the MCA shelf.
44. The MCA signal cable has a 9-pin female connector on one end and a 9-pin connector on the other.
Connect one connector to the COM 2 port on the back of the CPU. Route the 9-pin connector
through the large shelf side hole and onto the MCA shelf. Pull the cable and allow it to hang over the
front of the MCA shelf.
45. While holding the MCA box in front of, or just below, the MCA shelf, use a straight screwdriver to
connect the 9-pin connector to the open port on the back of the MCA.
46. Connect the two probe cables, which now extrude from the front of the MCA shelf, to the
appropriate fittings on the back of the MCA. The larger connector (MHV) is for high voltage, the
smaller (BNC) connector is for signal.
47. If you have a well counter, connect the larger (MHV) well cable connector to the well high voltage
fitting and the smaller (BNC) connector to the well signal port on the back of the MCA.
48. Plug the female end of the power cord into the back of the MCA. As much as possible, gather and
neatly bundle all the cables so that they lie outside the large shelf where they can later be covered by
the large shelf cable cover.
49. Place the MCA box on the MCA shelf so that the front of the MCA faces the side of the shelf with the
power ON/OFF switch accessible to your left so that it can be easily turned ON and OFF if required.
50. Make sure that there is paper in the printer tray. If not, add a stack of paper.
51. Plug the main power cable for the uptake stand into a hospital grade wall outlet. Turn the power
strip ON and make sure that all the units power up as indicated by their LEDs. If any component is
not ON at this point, try flipping the Power ON switch for that component and check that the plugs
are inserted properly into both the power strip and into the component.
52. If all components are ON, use a Phillips screwdriver to replace the large shelf cable cover removed
in step #4, making sure that the cables which protrude from the large shelf side cable hole are neatly
gathered and covered by the cover.
53. With a Phillips screwdriver, reinstall the power strip cover removed in step #12.
