Overview

The BISSELL® CrossWave® HF2 Wet & Vacuum Hard Floor Cleaner, 3847 Series, is a versatile appliance designed for cleaning hard floors. It combines the functions of a wet mop and a vacuum cleaner, allowing users to wash and vacuum their hard floors simultaneously.

Function Description:

The CrossWave HF2 is engineered to tackle both wet and dry messes on hard floor surfaces. It features a multi-surface cleaning system that dispenses cleaning solution while a rotating brush roll scrubs the floor and vacuums up dirt and debris. The machine separates clean water/solution from dirty water into two distinct tanks, ensuring that users are always cleaning with fresh solution. This dual-action capability makes it an efficient tool for maintaining various hard floor types, including sealed hardwood, tile, laminate, and more. The appliance is designed for household use and is not intended for commercial or hire purposes.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: Operates on a 220-240 Volt A.C. 50-60 Hz power supply.
  • Water Temperature: Uses warm water up to 60°C (140°F) in the clean water tank.
  • Cleaning Solutions: Compatible only with BISSELL® CrossWave® cleaning solutions specifically formulated for wet & vacuum hard floor cleaners. Using other cleaning solutions or household cleaners can harm the machine and void the warranty. Compatible solutions include Natural Multi-Surface Cleaning Solution, Natural Multi-Surface Pet Cleaning Solution, Multi-Surface Cleaning Solution, Multi-Surface Pet Cleaning Solution, and Wood Floor Cleaning Solution.
  • Safety Features: Includes various safety symbols indicating caution, risk of fire, electric shock, indoor use only, use of BISSELL cleaning formulas, disconnect power before servicing, allow parts to dry, use warm water up to 60°C, do not freeze, protection against moving parts, risk of automatic start-up, and a clean-out cycle.
  • Tank Capacity: Features separate clean water and dirty water tanks. The dirty water tank has a "MAX" fill line to prevent overfilling.
  • Brush Roll: Equipped with a motorized brush roll that spins to scrub floors. The brush roll does not spin when the machine is in an upright position.
  • Cord: Features a Quick Release™ Cord Wrap for easy storage and unwrapping.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly: Simple assembly involves inserting the handle until it clicks into place and then inserting the clean water tank. The cord can be wrapped around the Quick Release™ Cord Wrap for storage.
  • Filling the Clean Water Tank: To prepare for cleaning, the clean water tank is removed, the cap is unscrewed, and warm water (up to 60°C) is filled to the water fill line. The appropriate BISSELL cleaning solution is then added to the cleaning solution line, and the cap is screwed back on before reinserting the tank into the machine.
  • Operation: To begin cleaning, the user unwraps the cord, plugs in the machine, and reclines it. Pressing the power button turns the machine ON, activating the brush roll. The brush roll may take up to 10 seconds to fully wet. Users are instructed to use steady forward and backward strokes for optimal performance.
  • Hard Floor Specific: This product is intended exclusively for hard floor use and should not be used on carpets or area rugs.
  • Clean-Out Cycle: An automatic self-cleaning cycle is available for use after each cleaning session. To initiate, the dirty water tank should be emptied, the clean water tank filled to the clean-out cycle line (refilling with water if needed), the machine plugged in, and placed in its storage tray. The clean-out cycle button is then pressed to begin. This cycle helps maintain the machine's cleanliness.
  • Storage: The machine should be stored indoors in a dry location with the cord wrapped around the cord wrap. To prevent damage from freezing, it should not be stored in areas where freezing may occur.

Maintenance Features:

  • Emptying the Dirty Water Tank: The dirty water tank should be emptied when the water reaches the "MAX" line. This involves turning off and unplugging the machine, pressing the release button on top of the dirty water tank, and pulling it out. The tank lid is then removed, the dirty water is poured into a sink, and the tank is thoroughly rinsed. The tank lid is reinstalled, and the tank is reinserted into the machine, pivoting the top until it clicks into place.
  • After-Cleaning Care: After each use, the machine requires thorough cleaning. This includes turning off and unplugging the machine, removing and rinsing the brush roll (following specific steps for removal and reinstallation), and cleaning the brush roll window and tray if dirty. The dirty water tank is emptied, and its filter assembly is removed. The filter is washed in warm water with mild detergent, and the bottom of the tank lid is rinsed to remove debris. All parts should be allowed to air dry for 24 hours before reassembly and next use.
  • Changing the Brush Roll: The brush roll can be removed by pressing a button and pulling up on the brush window tab, then pulling a tab to remove the brush roll itself. To reinstall, the end of the brush is placed into the right side of the foot, the brush tab is pressed down to lock it in place, and the brush roll window is realigned with the tabs on the edges of the foot before pressing it until it clicks.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as reduced or no spray, loss of suction or streaking, brush roll not turning, machine not turning on, machine leaking, and brush roll stopping unexpectedly. Remedies include refilling tanks, cleaning filters, reinstalling parts, and allowing the machine to cool if overheating.
  • User Maintenance: Consumable components like filters, belts, shells, water tanks, scraping strips, brushes, and mop pads are designed for user replacement or servicing.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a limited 2-year warranty (varies by model) for personal domestic use, covering defective or malfunctioning parts or products. The warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, damage from misuse, unauthorized repairs, or use of non-BISSELL cleaning products.
