Overview

The BLANCO Hot Boiler 4L EU / 4L UK is an under-sink hot water boiler designed to heat drinking water above boiling point for domestic and similar applications. This appliance is intended for use with compatible BLANCO hot water mixer taps and the supplied BLANCO safety assembly module.

Function Description:

The hot water boiler electrically heats drinking water. An electronic temperature controller manages the electric heating process and switches the boiler off once the desired temperature is reached. When connected to the power supply, the boiler is protected against frost. However, this frost protection does not extend to the mixer tap and water connections, which should be protected by the user against freezing.

The boiler features an LED display that indicates its operational status:

  • BLUE: Indicates commissioning and system self-check.
  • RED, flashing: Signifies that the boiler is currently heating up.
  • RED: Indicates that the heating-up process is complete.
  • ORANGE, flashing: Signals a system error.
  • BLUE, flashing: Indicates that there is no water in the boiler.

During commissioning, or after all hot water has been used, the boiler takes approximately 15 minutes to fully heat up from 10 °C to its maximum temperature.

Usage Features:

The boiler is designed for straightforward operation. After proper installation and filling with water, it can be commissioned by a trained technician. The system is intended for domestic use, providing hot water on demand. Users should be familiarized with the boiler's function and potential hazards, particularly the risk of scalding from high water temperatures (above 43 °C at the tap). Children over 8 years old and individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities should only use the unit under supervision and after proper instruction, being aware of the associated risks. Children under 8 years old must not use the unit.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of the BLANCO Hot Boiler.

  • Safety Valve Test: The safety valve must be checked every six months. This involves briefly turning the cap on the pressure control valve by approximately 90° to open it and allow water to flow into the drain. After releasing the cap, no more water should drip. If water continues to drip, the safety assembly module needs to be replaced.
  • Emptying the Boiler: To empty the boiler, first disconnect it from the mains power. Then, flush hot water from the mixer tap until only cold water comes out. Close the water supply at the corner valves and open the screw connections on the boiler tubes. It is critical not to open these connections while the boiler is still hot, as sudden pressure drops can release large quantities of hot water and steam, posing a scalding risk.
  • Cleaning and Care: The system should be cleaned using a damp, non-dripping wet cloth. Abrasive or solvent-containing cleaning agents should not be used.
  • Frost Protection: The user must protect the system against frost, especially if it is dismantled, as residual water in the boiler or mixer tap can freeze and cause damage.
  • Professional Servicing: Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the hot water boiler must only be carried out by trained specialists. Any repairs to the boiler should only be performed by the manufacturer.
  • Original Parts: To ensure proper function and operational safety, only original BLANCO accessories and spare parts should be used with the system.
