7.18 Language and Input
Use this setting to change language and input method.
On the Home screen, tap
> Languages & input.
• Languages: Tap and select the default language for all menus and apps.
• Spell checker: Turn on this option to enable the spell checker and configure its settings and language.
• Personal dictionary: Tap to view and add words to your personal dictionary.
Keyboard & input methods
• Virtual keyboard: Tap to view the current keyboard you are using. Tap Manage keyboards to select a
different keyboard to use.
• Physical keyboard: Tap to configure the keyboard assistance settings.
Speech
• Text-to-speech output
– Preferred engine: Tap to select a speech synthesis engine. To change its settings, tap
.
– Speech rate: Tap to select the speed at which the text is spoken.
– Pitch: Tap to select the pitch at which the text is spoken.
– Reset speech rate: Tap to reset the speed at which the text is spoken to normal.
– Reset speech pitch: Tap to reset the pitch at which the text is spoken to default.
– Listen to an example: Tap to listen to a short demonstration of the spoken text.
– Default language status: Check the default language status.
Mouse/trackpad
• Pointer speed: Tap and move the slider to adjust the pointer speed for the mouse or trackpad that is
connected to your device.
