9.9 Purge gas connection
Both purge gas ducts are connected at the appropriate thread at the motor.
The connection threads are factory-made closed with protective plugs. Re‐
move the protective plugs just before assembly.
When connecting the purge gas ducts heed the prescribed flow directions:
Inlet (IN) is done via the purge gas hole on the terminal box.
Outlet (OUT) is done via the purge gas hole on the motor housing.

To connect an ATEX motor with the Ex p control device for motor scavenging
use a pipe or tube with a maximum inner diameter of 8 mm.
When using a plastic pipe, the maximum outer diameter is 13 mm.
Possible electrostatic discharge of plastic
tubes! Explosion hazard!
WARNING
Use only plastic tubes which are authorized for use in explosive areas.
Observe the permitted bending radius of the plastic tubes according to Fig.
9-13 when connecting the pneumatic scavenging gas ducts.
