10 Commissioning
10.1 General
Explosion hazard due to non-acceptance of
the overall system!
● Do not carry out commissioning if connections, operating states or prod‐
uct data are unclear or faulty!
● Commissioning in potentially explosive atmospheres is prohibited until it
has been ascertained that the overall system corresponds to the de‐
mands and certification conditions for explosion protection.
● Do not commission the motors if safety devices and monitoring units of
the plant are damaged or not in operation.
● Check the holding brake (option) functions before commissioning.
● Contact Bosch Rexroth for additional information or support during com‐
missioning.
● After repair, disassembly or for setup of security relevant parts, do the
routine test of the Ex protective system in connection with the motor ac‐
cording to EN 60079-0:2007 and EN 60079-2:2007, again before reacti‐
vation.
● Observe the notes regarding the commissioning of the control device for
motor purging.
10.2 Pre-purging of the overall system
Before each commissioning of the motors, the overall system must be pre-
purged in a defined way.
The "X" in the designation TPS***-X (see fig. 6-2 " Ex-identification plate on
Ex-type motors" on page 26) specifies the special condition that Bosch
Rexroth does not deliver a control device for motor purging. For this reason,
all settings on the control device must be set according to the type plate and
the following details.
The minimum purging time and minimum flow must be set ac‐
cording to EN 60079-2:2007, chapter 7.8 in such a way that at
least the fivefold total volume is exchanged.
Purge volume motor and tube
The following table gives an overview about the purge volume of separate
motor frame sizes and the tube volume.
