Specifying DNS servers available to the client
The dns-server command species DNS servers that are available to DHCP clients.
device(config-dhcp-cabo)# dns-server 10.2.1.143, 10.2.2.142
Syntax: dns-server address [ address, address ]
Conguring the domain name for the client
The domain-name command congures the domain name for the client.
device(config-dhcp-cabo)# domain-name sierra
Syntax: domain-name domain
Conguring the lease duration for the address pool
The lease command species the lease duration for the address pool. The default is a one-day lease.
device(config-dhcp-cabo)# lease 1 4 32
In this example, the lease duration has been set to one day, four hours, and 32 minutes. You can set a lease duration for just days, just
hours, or just minutes, or any combination of the three.
Syntax: lease days hours minutes
Specifying addresses to exclude from the address pool
The excluded-address command
species either a single address, or a range of addresses that are to be excluded from the address
pool.
device(config-dhcp-cabo)# excluded-address 10.2.3.44
Syntax: excluded-address { address | address-low address-high }
• address - Species a single address
• address-low address-high - Species a range of addresses
Conguring the NetBIOS server for DHCP clients
The netbios-name-server command
species the IP address of a NetBIOS WINS server or servers that are available to Microsoft
DHCP clients.
device(config-dhcp-cabo)# netbios-name-server 192.168.1.55
Syntax: netbios-name-server address [ ,address2,address3 ]
Conguring the subnet and mask of a DHCP address pool
This network command
congures the subnet network and mask of the DHCP address pool.
device(config-dhcp-cabo)# network 10.2.3.44/24
