Using your machine with a
Macintosh

Before you can connect the machine to your Macintosh

you must buy a USB cable that is not longer than 1.8 metres.
Do not connect the machine to a USB port on a
keyboard or a non-powered USB hub.
Some descriptions in this chapter are based on the
MFC-8840D. These descriptions also apply to the
MFC-8440, DCP-8040 and DCP-8045D.
