38 S5 Battery Validation System
Procedure
1. Choose how to string the VM-24s and CM-2s together
2. Prepare the Communications Cable 3. Attach orange wires in orange 2-pin power plug
4. Attach white 4-pin plug to 4 communications wires
5. Insert power plug into SCM. Next, plug communications
wires (white plug) into Communications Termination Plug
and then plug Communications Termination Plug into
SCM.
6. Attach cables to IN and OUT on the first VM-24
NOTE - IMPORTANT: For the FIRST module ONLY (can be VM-24 or CM-2), the green communications wire coming from
the SCM must be cut before the module as shown in the second picture below. Do not terminate that green wire into that
“IN” white COMM plug. Green communications wire WILL be terminated into EVERY OTHER white COMM plug.
Strip 1” from
end
Polarity insensitive
black, red, green, white
Repeat steps 2-4
for each cable.
