9 Appendix

9.1 Connecting a keyboard

We recommend to use a keyboard for a simple input of the

sample names and sample identifications.

9.2 Connection of a printer

We recommend to use a printer model Star Printer 512

MC-42 parallel. The printer is connected using the

communication cable supplied with the printer.

All printers are connected through the parallel V24 interface

which is connected via the communication cable (centronic)

to the printer (see section 5.1).

Appropriate printer settings are selected in the configuration

menu of the melting point apparatus. The interface is auto-

matically correctly configured by the melting point apparatus.
