Positioning the profiler in the water
If the vessel has a large freeboard it may be necessary to recover the profiler completely out of the
water to enable reliable data transfer. In this case, some protection should be provided to the stern of
the vessel to soften any impact from the profiler.
The data transfer position can be set in two ways :-
1. Manually, by positioning the profiler at the required position using the jog controls.
2. Automatically, with the winch automatically positioning the profiler a given distance away from
the sheave assembly.
