Reasons for loading an IPL would be:
1. Upgrading the software version in the machine
2. Enhancement was made in the software
A couple of points to be aware of when using the RAC-12 card and loading an
IPL:
1. Loading a new IPL into a machine will erase all programming
2. A RAC-12 card can have both an IPL and a customer program but
when loading an IPL onto a RAC-12 card it will first erase the card
and its’ contents before writing the IPL file to the card
3. A customer program can be saved to a RAC-12 card that has an
IPL without affecting it
4. Only one (1) customer program can be saved to a card
1) Turn Mode Lock key to the PGM position
2) Enter 7 and depress the Subtotal key
3) Enter 4110 and depress Subtotal and then Cash Amt Tender
1) Disconnect AC cord from wall outlet
2) Turn Mode key to “PGM” position and hold down the Journal Feed key
and plug the power cord back in
3) Wait a few seconds and release the Journal Feed key
4) The machine will beep and the following screen will appear
5) Insert the RAC Card into the RAC slot on the left side of the machine as
shown below:
