What to do if Char-Broil Grill burner won't light?
    • G
      gina11Aug 10, 2025
If your Char-Broil Grill burner isn't lighting, start by ensuring the burner tubes aren't blocked by spider webs or other debris; consult the cleaning section of the Use and Care guide for instructions. Check that the burner is correctly connected to the control valve, making sure the valves are inside the burner tubes. Also, confirm that your LP cylinder isn't empty. If it's not, there might be a vapor lock; in that case, turn off the knobs, disconnect the coupling nut from the LP cylinder, then reconnect and try again. It's also possible that the coupling nut and LP cylinder valve aren't fully connected. Turn the coupling nut an additional one-half to three-quarters of a turn until it stops, tightening by hand only. See instructions on control panel and in Use and Care section.

How to fix a Char-Broil Grill ignitor that won't spark?
    • J
      Jennifer FloresAug 20, 2025
If the ignitor on your Char-Broil Grill isn't sparking, first check the electrode. If it's cracked or broken, especially if you see sparks at the crack, you'll need to replace the electrode. Also, make sure the electrode tip is properly positioned, pointing toward the gas port opening on the burner, about 1/8' to 1/4' away; adjust if necessary. Another potential issue is cooking residue on the wire or electrode; clean them with rubbing alcohol and a clean swab. Finally, inspect the wires to ensure they are securely connected. If they're loose, reconnect them, or if they're shorting (sparking) between the ignitor and electrode, replace the ignitor wire/electrode assembly.

Why won't my Char-Broil Grill burner light with the ignitor?
    • J
      Joanna BarnettOct 30, 2025
If the burner on your Char-Broil Grill won't light with the ignitor, several factors could be the cause. Ensure the burner is correctly engaged with the control valve by checking that the valves are positioned inside the burner tubes. Also, make sure that the burner tubes are free from obstructions like spider webs. If there's no gas flow, verify that the LP cylinder isn't empty and that the coupling nut and LP cylinder valve are fully connected—tighten it by hand until you reach a solid stop. A vapor lock could also be the issue; try turning off the knobs, disconnecting the coupling nut from the LP cylinder, reconnecting, and then retrying. The electrode tip should be pointing toward the gas port opening on the burner, with a distance of 1/8' to 1/4'; adjust if needed. Also, ensure that y...
