Service and Maintenance
Engine Oil Dipstick
Engine oil consumption is affected by
many factors. For a new engine, after
about 5,000km, it will reach the normal
consumption value. When an engine is
running under heavy load, it consumes
more engine oil.
Please regularly check engine oil, for
example, when adding fuel or before a
long journey.
When checking engine oil, please park
your vehicle on level ground. Turn off
ignition switch and wait for several
minutes to let engine oil flow into oil pan
(when outside temperature is too low or
engine does not reach its operating
temperature yet, this requires more time).
Before check engine oil, please do not
start engine under cold state. Pull out oil
dipstick, use a downless cloth to wipe it up,
fully reinsert it and then pull it out again.
If oil level is between MIN and MAX
marks at lower end of the dipstick, you
need not add engine oil. Level of hot
engine oil may exceed the upper gap mark
for several millimeters due to thermal
expansion.
If oil level is at or below the lower MIN
mark, only add the engine oil in
compliance with specifications of Chery to
between MIN and MAX marks. See the
chapter “Capacities and Specifications”
for details.
Engine Oil Filler Cap
To open the filler cap, turn it
counter-clockwise and then pull it out.
Please do not open the filler cap when
engine is running.
Turn the filler cap clockwise until a click
is heard, this indicates that it has been
closed.
