If the pedal clearance is l ess than 3'h inches the hydraulic
syste m shou ld be re-bled in accordance with the forego ing pro-
cedure.
Ma int enance-
Bra ke Adjustment (% ton front a nd rear) .
1.
Ra ise truck until wheels rotate freely.
2. Disconnect p ark ing brake cables from parking brake
cross s haft outer lev ers. This precaution should be t aken to
elimina te possibility of brake shoes dragging in drum due to
misadjustment of parking brak e cables.
3. Remov e ad ju sting hole
covers from flange plate on
a ll fo ur wheels. Expand
brake sh oes by turning ad-
ju sting screw until a light
drag is felt on the brake
drum (6g. 50), th en back off
adjusting screw 14 notches
and rep lace adju s ting hole
4. After foot brakes are
adjusted, adjust parki n g
brake. See "Parking Brake
Adju s tment," page 54.
5. Lower truck to floor and
test brakes.

toeboard, brake adjustment is needed.
1. Raise the truck and place stand jacks front and rear so
that aU four wheels rotate freely.
2.
Disconnect the parking brake cables at the cross s haft
lever. This precaution shou ld be taken to eliminate the possi-
bility of the brake shoes dragging th e drum due to misadjust-
ment of the parking brakes.
