How to troubleshoot main power problems in my ClimateMaster Heat Pump?
    • J
      Julie PorterAug 18, 2025
If the green status LED is off on your ClimateMaster Heat Pump, start by checking the line voltage circuit breaker and disconnect. Also, check for line voltage between L1 and L2 on the contactor. Further, verify that there is 24VAC between R and C on CXM/DXM2. Finally, examine the primary and secondary voltage on the transformer.

What causes LP/LOC Fault Code 3 (Low Pressure / Loss of Charge) in a ClimateMaster Tranquility TCH 015 Heat Pump?
    • S
      schneiderchristopherAug 23, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump shows a Low Pressure/Loss of Charge fault (Code 3), it might be due to insufficient charge. Check for refrigerant leaks. Also, check the charge and start-up water flow.

Why does my ClimateMaster Heat Pump show LT1 Fault Code 4 (Water coil low temperature limit)?
    • K
      Karen SmithAug 26, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump displays a Water coil low temperature limit fault (LT1 Fault Code 4), it could be due to several reasons. Start by checking the pump operation or water valve operation/setting if there is reduced or no water flow in heating. Clean or replace the plugged strainer or filter. Ensure the water flow is adjusted to the proper rate. Check the antifreeze density with a hydrometer to ensure an adequate level. If using antifreeze, clip the JW3 jumper for antifreeze (10°F [-12°C]) use. Ensure the water temperature is within design parameters. Finally, check the thermistor's temperature and impedance correlation per the chart; replace if it's bad.

What does LT2 Fault Code 5 (Air coil low temperature limit) mean on my ClimateMaster Tranquility TCH 015?
    • M
      Madison RodriguezAug 27, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump is showing an Air coil low temperature limit fault (LT2 Fault Code 5), it could be due to several reasons. First, check for a dirty air filter and clean or replace it if there is reduced or no air flow in cooling. Check the fan motor operation and airflow restrictions. Check the static pressure against the blower table if the external static is too high. Ensure the entering air temperature is within design parameters. If the temperature limit setting is improper (30°F vs 10°F [-1°C vs -12°C]), normal airside applications will require 30°F [-1°C] only. Finally, check the thermistor's temperature and impedance correlation per the chart if it's bad.

How do I fix Condensate Fault Code 6 on my ClimateMaster Tranquility TCH 015 Heat Pump?
    • C
      Christopher GouldAug 30, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump displays Condensate Fault Code 6, it could be caused by a blocked drain. Check for blockage and clean the drain. Inspect the trap dimensions and ensure its location is ahead of the vent. Check for proper piping slope away from the unit to ensure good drainage. Ensure the unit slopes toward the outlet. Check the vent location for poor venting. Check for moisture shorting to the air coil if there's moisture on the sensor. Replace the air filter if it is plugged. Find and eliminate any restrictions to return airflow, and consider increasing the return duct and/or grille size.

What does Over/Under Voltage Code 7 mean for my ClimateMaster Tranquility TCH 015?
    • A
      Alexander GonzalezSep 1, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump is showing Over/Under Voltage Code 7 (Auto resetting), it may be due to under voltage. Check the power supply and 24VAC voltage before and during operation. Also, check the power supply wire size. Check compressor starting and consider if a hard start kit is needed. Verify the 24VAC and unit transformer tap for correct power supply voltage. If it is due to over voltage, check the power supply voltage and 24VAC before and during operation. Also, check the 24VAC and unit transformer tap for correct power supply voltage.

What does Unit Performance Sentinel Code 8 mean on my ClimateMaster Tranquility TCH 015 Heat Pump?
    • T
      tracigillespieSep 3, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump displays Unit Performance Sentinel Code 8, it could be due to the following reasons. In heating mode, if LT2 is greater than 125°F [52°C], check for poor airflow or an overcharged unit. In cooling mode, if LT1 is greater than 125°F [52°C] or LT2 is less than 40ºF [4ºC], check for poor water flow or airflow.

    Roy MeyerSep 5, 2025
Why is my ClimateMaster Tranquility TCH 015 short cycling?
    • D
      David AndersonSep 5, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump is short cycling, it could be due to a dirty air filter; check and clean the air filter. The unit might be in 'test mode'; reset power or wait 20 minutes for auto exit. The unit may be oversized for the space; check the sizing for the actual load of the space. Check the compressor overload and replace if necessary.

What causes only the fan to run on my ClimateMaster Tranquility TCH 015?
    • K
      Kristen BaileySep 8, 2025
If only the fan is running on your ClimateMaster Heat Pump, ensure the thermostat is set for heating or cooling operation. Check for lockout codes and reset power if necessary. Inspect the compressor overload and replace if needed. Check the thermostat wiring at the heat pump; jumper Y and R for compressor operation in test mode.

Why does only the compressor run on my ClimateMaster Heat Pump?
    • V
      vincent71Sep 12, 2025
If only the compressor runs on your ClimateMaster Heat Pump, check the G wiring at the heat pump. Jumper G and R for fan operation. Check the fan motor relay by jumpering G and R for fan operation and check for Line voltage across BR contacts. Check the fan power enable relay operation (if present). Check for line voltage at the motor and inspect the capacitor. Check the thermostat wiring at the heat pump; jumper Y and R for compressor operation in test mode. Set for cooling demand and check 24VAC on RV coil and at CXM/DXM2 board for the reversing valve. Check for ‘O’ RV setup not ‘B’ for thermostat setup. Check O wiring at heat pump and jumper O and R for RV coil ‘click’.
