Treadmill Hardware Manual 1011-0002 v1.02
9.4.4 Motor Overload
The power supply for the motor is protected by a thermal resettable fuse. If the motor is mechanically
overloaded and/or demands excess power from the supply, then the thermal fuse will open. In this situation,
the motors speed will drop dramatically and the message !!! OVERLOAD !!! will be displayed.
Use the MODE button to set the treadmill belt mode to STOP. Then inspect the hardware for excessive
treadmill belt tension, moving parts rubbing against others, or bearing resistance in the rollers and pulleys.
After the thermal fuse cools down and re-closes, the message is removed. Use the MODE button to resume
normal operation.
9.5 Treadmill Stimulus Detection
The Treadmill Stimulus Detection should have its experiment parameters setup first. Then the animals should
be loaded into the treadmill and the stimulus intensity and repetition rate should be set. Next the experiment
is started on the Treadmill Stimulus Detection. Finally, the treadmill belt is set into motion.
The list of experiment parameters are as follows:
Mode
Session Number
Number of Active Channels
Yoked Stimulus
Number of Visits
Number of Stimuli
Number of Complete Exhaustions
Number of Measured Exhaustions
Time-Score Percent
Visit-Score of Visits
Repetition Rate
Begin Experiment
The CHANNEL knob is used to navigate the list of parameters. Clockwise rotations will move the selection
arrow up, and counterclockwise rotations will move the arrow down.
Press the RESET button to select a parameter to edit (an underline cursor will appear to indicate you are
editing) and to save any changes (the cursor will disappear to indicate you are back to viewing).
Use the UP/DOWN knob to adjust the parameter while editing.
9.5.1 Mode
The first option at the top of the list, Manual, should be selected (indicated by a solid dot).
