Functions
OFF-MAN-SEM-AUT mode
OFF mode
Outputs STARTER, GCB CLOSE/OPEN and FUEL SOLENOID are not energized.
Genset cannot be started. If START,STOP,GCB ON/OFF buttons are pressed the controller will not
respond.
When the gen-set is running it is not possible to switch directly to OFF mode. First you have to stop the
engine.
MAN mode
1) START button - starts the gen-set.
2) GCB ON/OFF button
a) controller does not close GCB to the dead bus.
b) When Mains is within limits and MCB feedback is closed the controller starts RPM matching and
closes GCB when all matching conditions are met.
c) The controller closes GCB (during RPM matching procedure) when
(a) engine RPM = Requested RPM ± RPM/Load ctrl: RPM matching,
(b) where Requested RPM = = fmains * Nominal RPM / Nominal freq
d) Electric generator protections are activated 2s after GCB is closed.
e) GCB automatically opens after mains fail
f) Opens the GCB if it is closed.
3) STOP button stops the gen-set.
Hint:
The gen-set is permitted to run unloaded for an unlimited time.
The controller does not automatically stop the unloaded running gen-set in MAN mode.
The controller does not respond to binary input REM START/STOP.
Load control in parallel depends on ProcessControl: Load control = BASELOAD or IMP/EXP setpoints.
SEM
1) START button - starts the gen-set.
a) The controller does not close GCB to the dead bus.
b) When Mains is within limits and MCB feedback is closed controller starts RPM matching and closes
GCB when all matching conditions are met (see in MAN mode). Gen-set remains running in parallel.
c) When Mains failure is recognized during parallel operation - controller opens GCB and if this state
continues for 1 minute, it will stop the engine.
d) After mains recovers and MCB feedback is closed again (MCB is controlled externally), the controller
starts RPM matching and closes GCB when all matching conditions are met. Gen-set remains
running in parallel.
2) STOP button softly unloads the gen-set, opens GCB, provides cooldown and stops the engine..
Hint:
Controller does not respond to GCB ON/OFF button and binary input REM START/STOP.
