Setting up the scanner

Verify scanner, installation CD, USB cable, and calibration cards. Install software from CD.

Installation Process Steps

Select Components

Choose to install Browser Plug-In and scanner drivers. Details available for driver sub-packages.

Installation Completion and Restart

Confirm selections, begin installation, finish setup, and restart the computer for changes to take effect.

Hardware Setup and Driver Installation

Found New Hardware Wizard

Connect scanner, select 'No, not this time' for Windows Update, and choose automatic installation.

Windows Logo Testing Prompt

Address the Windows Logo testing warning by selecting 'Continue Anyway' to proceed with installation.

Using the Scanner with KeepnTrack

Enable Scanner Maintenance

Log into KeepnTrack Administration and enable ID scanner maintenance from the Operators control panel.

ActiveX Control and Calibration Initiation

Run ActiveX control when prompted and select 'Calibrate ID Scanner' to start the calibration process.

Scanner Calibration Process

Insert calibration card into scanner and click OK to begin and complete the calibration process.

Enable and Use ID Scanner in Kiosk

Ensure ID scanner is enabled in Operator Control Panel and perform sign-in by placing ID in tray and scanning.

License Scanning and Data Processing

Scan license without forcing; KeepnTrack captures data, populating fields and picture automatically.

Visitor Interaction and Settings

Handle visitors, print badges, and customize scanner behavior via KeepnTrack settings in Administration.
