6. After disinfecting the battery pack or battery platform, thoroughly wipe them with a lint-free cloth moistened with
distilled or sterilized water. Do not immerse battery pack or battery platform or rinse under running water. Note: Using
tap water can cause mineral deposits to collect on the contacts which may affect operation of the handpiece.
7. Dry all items with a clean, lint-free cloth.
8. At least once a week, thoroughly clean the metal contact points on the battery case. Use a cotton swab and a non-
abrasive cleaning product that is approved for use with metal. Do not use products such as bleach or other corrosive
chemicals. Repeat cleaning as necessary until clean.
Sterilization Information for Battery Case and Sterile Transfer Shroud
Steam sterilization is safe and effective and has no contraindications for its use in sterilizing sterile transfer battery cases
and the sterile transfer shroud.
PRECAUTIONS:
• Ensure the lid of the sterile transfer battery case is fully open and in the face-down position during sterilization.
• Do not sterilize the battery. Exposure to heat will damage the battery.
• The use of disinfecting solutions for an exterior instrument wipe will not sterilize the equipment and is not recommended.
NOTE: Sterilization validation has been conducted in accordance with the requirements of AAMI TIR12.
