Exterior Component Removal and Installation
AIR BREAK REMOVAL
WARNING
Turn off the power and water to the product
before starting this procedure.
To remove the air break, first uninstall the unit. Then,
remove:
Top and side insulation
Rear insulation
Lower rack
Tub side cover and gasket between air break and tub
wall
Door panel
Kickplate
Lower front cover
Upper front cover
Rear access cover
REMOVE THE AIR BREAK
Use pliers to compress the spring clamp on the water
inlet valve side of the formed fill hose.
Slide the spring clamp toward the air break.
Remove the formed fill hose from the water inlet
valve.
Compress the spring clamp again, and remove it
from the formed fill hose.
Use a

” socket to remove the air break mounting
screw.
Disconnect the wire connectors from the air break.
Use pliers to compress the spring clamps on the
hoses from the water softener, and slide them down
the hoses.
Use the hot air gun on the low setting to heat the
water softener hoses for less than one minute.
Remove the water softener hoses from the air break.
TIP: Mark which water softener hose goes to
which connection.
Remove the air break from the unit.
