CP660 Six Channel Amplifier
Reference Manual
7 Specifications
The following specifications apply to all models in Mono
mode with 8-ohm loads unless otherwise specified.
Frequency Response: +0/-1 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
@ 1 watt.
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) @ 1 kHz: < 0.3% @
8 ohm rated power.
Intermodulation Distortion (IMD): < 0.25% from 8
ohm rated to –35 dB. (60 Hz and 7 kHz @ 4:1)
Input Sensitivity: 0.7 volts for 8 ohm rated output.
Damping Factor: >250 from 20 to 400 Hz.
Phase Response: ±15
degrees from 20 Hz to 10 kHz
@ 1 watt.
Signal to Noise: > 100 dB (A-Weighted) below 8 ohm
rated power.

It is extremely important to supply the amplifier with ad-
equate AC power. Power amplifiers cannot add
power—they need the required voltage and current to
deliver the undistorted rated wattages you expect.
Load Impedance: Will drive any load impedance; opti-
mized for the range of 4 to 8 ohms per channel dual, or
8 ohms mono.
AC Power Requirements:
120 V, 60 Hz, 6.5 amps typical.
240 V, 50 Hz, 3.3 amps typical.
100 V, 50 Hz, 7.8 amps typical.
7.2 Controls
Power: A front-panel rocker switch used to turn the
amplifier on and off.
Level: A back-panel Level control for each channel.
Dual/Mono: A 2-position back-panel switch used to se-
lect Dual or Mono operation.
7.3 Indicators
Power: The green power indicator turns on when the
CP660
has been turned on and has power.
Signal Indicators: Each channel has a green indicator
that flashes to show audio output.
Clip Indicators: The yellow clip indicators turn on
when distortion is audible on the amplifier output of
the corresponding channel.
Temp: This red LED will turn on when the temperature
of the amplifier gets too high and the fan is in full-
speed operation mode. If the maximum operating tem-
perature is exceeded, this light remains on while the
amplifier cools down.
7.4 Input/Output
Input Connector: Available with three-terminal barrier
block balanced connectors.
Input Impedance: Nominally 20 k ohms, balanced.
Nominally 10 k ohms, unbalanced.
Output Connector: The output connections can
accomodate banana plugs, double banana plugs, or
wire as large as 10 gauge.
Output Impedance: Less than 32 milliohms.
DC Output Offset: Less than ±50 millivolts.
7.5 Output Signal
Dual: Unbalanced, two separate channels.
Mono: Balanced, single-channel. Odd-numbered
controls are active; Even-numbered channel should be
turned down.
