Installing with Base Using Lap Belt Only
6. Route vehicle Lap Belt through BASE BELT PATH
opening, under the SafeLock Belt Tensioner, under
the tabs on the blue Belt Guides, and through the
other BASE BELT PATH opening. BUCKLE THE
BELT. Make sure the Lap Belt lays at and is not
twisted.
The vehicle belt should ALWAYS be routed UNDER
the SafeLock Belt Tensioner and the tabs on the
Belt Guides. NEVER place a vehicle belt over the
SafeLock Belt Tensioner or the tabs on the Belt
Guides, even in a vehicle with longer buckle stalks.
NOTE: Make sure that vehicle belt buckle and
hardware do not interfere with correct installation
of the Base or with the connection of the Infant Car
Seat to the Base.
7. On the buckle side, remove slack from the Lap Belt,
being careful not to overtighten. The SafeLock Belt
Tensioner will tighten the system fully.
NOTE: For a vehicle belt system with a locking
latch plate, after removing slack, secure the free
end of the Lap Belt under the SafeLock Belt
Tensioner.
