OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF HIGH PRESSURE WATER MIST PUMP UNIT

Each routine of the below listed items shall be carried out by a competent person of the VdS-
approved installer who shall provide the operator with a signed, dated report of the inspection and
advise of any rectification carried out or needed, and advise of any external factors, which may have
affected the results.
Half – yearly servicing routine by VdS– approved installer
If in the event of a power supply failure an
electric supplied pump unit is supplied by an
emergency source of power, the automatic
change over shall be tested.

In addition to the weekly routine checks the below mentioned checks and inspections shall be
carried out by VdS-approved installer at intervals of not more than 12 months.

Automatic high-
pressure pump
flow test
Each HP pump unit in the installation shall be tested at the full load
condition (by means of the test line connection coupled to the pump
delivery branch downstream of the outlet back pressure valve) and shall
provide the minimum system pressure and flow values stated on the
name plate.
Note: Appropriate allowances shall be made for pressure losses in the
supply pipe and valves between the source and the gauge at the
measuring point.

Back up batteries
for Logic relay in
UCP
Batteries supplying the logic relay in the unit control panel shall be
inspected and checked for capacity (24 VDC). At capacity below 80%,
the batteries shall be replaced.
