Air flow
The air flow through an HCV is described and illustrated below:

Outside air
Outside air entering the heat exchanger ready to be
heated by the extract air from the house

Supply air
The supply air is heated by means of heat recovery from
the extract air
T3
Extract air
"Polluted" and warm extract air is used to heat up the
outside air by means of heat recovery in the heat ex-
changer
T4
Exhaust air
The heat of the extract air is used to heat the cold out-
side air. The exhaust air is led out of the house.
