Why is the Danville PrepStart Dental equipment cutting so slow?
    • L
      leecynthiaAug 2, 2025
If your Danville Dental equipment's cutting performance is slow, it could be due to weak abrasive flow, low pressure, or a worn-out or small-sized nozzle. Here's what you can do: 1. Check the abrasive fill and ensure the correct brass tuning cap is inside the jar. 2. Increase the pressure setting to dramatically improve cut speed. 3. When activated, the pressure gauge should not drop more than a few psi (1/10 bar). Refer to the ‘Air Source’ section for details. 4. Verify the nozzle size; .015” nozzles may cut slowly. 5. Set the powder control to the maximum (clockwise). 6. Check for weak powder flow.

How to fix weak powder flow in Danville Dental equipment?
    • P
      Paula RojasAug 7, 2025
If you notice a weak powder flow in your Danville Dental equipment, it could be due to low powder in the abrasive jar, an incorrect abrasive tuning cap, a low abrasive setting, moist abrasive, or plugged jar metering holes from moisture. The PrepStart is designed to use about 5gm/min at 100 psi (6.7 bars) at the maximum powder setting. To check the abrasive stream, spray it across a dark background with good lighting; it should appear light but clearly defined. If the abrasive is moist, discard it. Inspect the bottom of the jar for abrasive collecting around the inner column. If there's a ring of more than 4mm of abrasive, it's blocking the metering holes. Remove the abrasive with an explorer.

What to do if Danville Dental equipment has excessive powder flow?
    • P
      Paula HallAug 12, 2025
If your Danville Dental equipment has excessive powder flow, make sure that the abrasive tuning cap matches the size of abrasive you're using (27 or 50 micron). Also, empty the waste powder chamber and ensure the abrasive level in the powder jar is below the tuning cap.

What to do if abrasive flow does not shut off immediately in Danville PrepStart?
    • V
      Victoria SimmonsAug 17, 2025
If the abrasive flow in your Danville Dental equipment doesn't shut off immediately, start by emptying the waste powder chamber. If the problem persists, the pinch valve or waste powder chamber filters may need service.

Why is there an internal air leak in my Danville PrepStart?
    • A
      Angela ThompsonAug 22, 2025
If you suspect an internal air leak in your Danville Dental equipment, it might be due to excessive pressure. Pressures above 125 psi (8.3 bars) will be automatically vented by an internal safety valve.
