Service support
The follow tables are provided on the Datatool website for owner assistance.
Fuller explanations of some of the items are contained AFTER the ABC type tables.
Fault finding (As simple as A B C)
Transmitter based issues
A. Symptom
B. Problem
C. Cure
The transmitter LED does not light or dims
while the buttons are being pressed.
Transmitter battery failed/failing. Replace using a new battery (see user guide
for battery type).
The alarm fails to respond or will only
respond to the transmitter at very close
range.
External radio interference or transmitter battery
failing.
Disarm with your personal PIN (if entered).
Move the motorcycle to a different location
and / or attempt to shield the alarm unit from
any possible disruptive source.
Replace using a new battery (see user guide
for battery type).
The new transmitter is not accepted by the
alarm unit when programming is attempted.
Has the transmitter been coded to the alarm?
Is the transmitter the correct transmitter for this
system?
Check that the new transmitter matches the
current / old transmitter.
Check that the system you have is an S4
(this will be recorded on the certificate of
installation).
The new transmitter is not accepted by the
alarm unit when programming is attempted.
The programming sequence may be being used
incorrectly.
Check that the sequence and the PIN
number you are using are both correct.
Check that the motorcycle battery is fully
charged and connected.
Is the kill switch in the run position?
The transmitter will not arm / disarm the
alarm.
Is the transmitter programmed to the alarm? Re-program the transmitter to the alarm unit
using the instructions provided in the user
manual. (Note: The alarm will only store six
transmitters in its memory at any one time).
The transmitter will not disarm the alarm
easily and the LED is flashing only every 10
seconds or will only disarm with the ignition
turned ON
The machine’s battery is low (between 11.5 and
10.5 volts)
Charge the machine’s battery
The transmitter will not disarm the alarm until
the ignition is turned on and the LED is
flashing every 30 seconds, dimly. The siren
is also beeping quietly every minute
The machine’s battery is very low (between 10.5
and 9.8 volts)
Charge the machine’s battery, URGENTLY!
The transmitter will not disarm the alarm until
the ignition is turned on and the LED is NOT
flashing
The machine’s battery is failing (or has failed) Charge the machine’s battery NOW! If the
battery does not recover replace the battery
and buy a Datatool battery conditioner (Pt.
No. 02012011)
The transmitter would not disarm the alarm
until the ignition was turned on and then the
alarm started to beep and then went off.
The alarm was in winter mode. This is not a
problem
Read your manual to learn about WINTER
mode
Transmitter range has reduced The transmitter battery is coming towards the end
of its life.
Replace the transmitter battery with a NEW
one
