4. Trunk Gateway Mode (for all models except GoIP-1)
This mode offers a seamless interface with the SIP Trunk configuration in a SIP server. In general, SIP
registration is not required in this mode; this is an advantage for a SIP system that requires a license per
registration. If SIP server and the device are not in the same network segment, it is recommended that
both SIP server and the device are using public IPs for reliable operation. Installing either one or both
(SIP server and the device) behind NAT may or may not work properly depending on the SIP Server and
the routers (on each side) as well. In this case, SIP server must support NAT. Some routers may map an
internal port to a different external port number. Otherwise, VoIP calls may fail to establish properly in
this network environment.
