Removing the hard drive

CAUTION: Hard drives are fragile. Exercise care when handling the hard
drive.
CAUTION: To avoid data loss, do not remove the hard drive while the
computer is in sleep or on state.
Prerequisites
1 Remove the base cover.
2 Remove the battery.
Procedure
NOTE: The latch on the hard-drive locking connector is fragile. Pulling the
latch forcefully may damage the hard-drive locking connector. Exercise care
when handling the latch on the hard-drive locking connector.
1 Open the latch and disconnect the hard-drive cable from the system board.
2 Peel oî the hard-drive cable from the computer base.
3 Remove the four screws (M2.5x3) that secure the hard-drive assembly to the
computer base.
