154 Removing and Installing Parts
CD/DVD Drive
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the
safety instructions located in the Product Information Guide.
CAUTION: To guard against likelihood of electric shock, laceration by moving fan
blades or other unexpected injuries, always unplug your computer from the
electrical outlet before opening the cover.
Removing a CD/DVD Drive

Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 103.

Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" on
page 105).

Remove the bezel (see "Removing the Bezel" on page 135).
4
Disconnect the CD/DVD drive data cable from the system board
connector.
5
Disconnect the power cable and the CD/DVD drive data cable from the
back of the drive.
6
Pull the CD/DVD drive bay release lever gently and slide the CD/DVD
drive out through the front of the computer.
