4.14 Battery
A replaceable coin cell CR2032 3V battery is mounted on the planar to provide backup power for the
Real-Time Clock and CMOS RAM on the ICH chip.
There is also a battery holder for optional PERC cards which is located under the chassis cover.
4.15 Field Replaceable Units (FRU)
The planar contains a 16K x 8 serial EEPROM to store FRU information including Dell part number,
part revision level, and serial number. This part is also used as a system event log (SEL) to be used by
the baseboard management controller (BMC).
