Install the air lter. Install the engine/air lter cover. Check that the cover is correctly installed, the cover
is seated properly. Snap the catches into place.
Spark plug
NOTE: For eective saw working keep the spark plug clean and free of carbon deposits,
The distance between the electrodes must be correctly adjusted.
1. Make sure that the saw is o.
2. Clean the surface near the spark plug.
3. Disconnect the high voltage cable from spark plug 1 (Fig. 26).
4. Unscrew the spark plug 2 using the special spark plug wrench. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TOOL.
The electrodes of the spark plug should be light brown.
5. Replace the spark plug if the ceramic insulator is chipped or if the electrodes are burnt or soiled.
6. Clean the electrodes to metal with ne sandpaper, check and adjust the gap.
7. Check the gap between the ground electrode and the center electrode, using a special probe. If necessary
set the gap to 0.7-0.8 mm (Fig. 27).
8. Install the spark plug into the engine and tighten securely. Insucient tightening of the spark plug can
cause it to overheat and damage the engine.
9. Connect the high-voltage wire.
