5 Installation and Connection
5.1 Power Cable
•
Connect power cable to charger.
•
Place measuring instrument ME5000 into charger, so that the batteries in the measur-
ing instrument may be charged.
•
Once the green LED „Ready“ appears on the charger, the batteries are fully charged.
•
When charging batteries for the first time, the charging process may take up to 2 hours.
IMPORATANT
When charging the battery-pack for the first time the green light starts
blinking after approx. 15 minutes (impulse trickle charging). If this happens
remove the unit from the charging point and then place it again into the
charging point.
Make sure, that the red light "Charge" (2) is on while charging the unit.
5.2 RS232 Port
If the measuring values need to be displayed on a PC or printed on a serial printer, then
the RS232 connection cable (standard) needs to be connected to the RS232 port on the
docking station and the PC or printer. Thereafter, all values can be output either in print
format or in csv-format (with customized DEPRAG software) on a PC or printer.
6 Software-Update
Software updates and PC-Software with connection-cable are available upon request.
