1.4 Machine Capability Testing
Prior to machine installation, this analysis can examine whether the applied production ma-
chine is even capable to accurately handle the production requirement.
The goal of a machine capability test is the confirmation, that
a) the machine to be tested operates using a clearly recognizable conformity. If not con-
formity is recognized, then the machine does not have a defined capability. It is then
not possible to assign a statistical capability-index to the machine.
b) the machine is capable to produce parts within predetermined tolerances. The neces-
sary evidence can only be generated using the conformity capability as shown under
item a).
The machine capability test is a short-term test, which sole goal it is to recognize machine
influences on the production process.
NOTICE
During sampling, no adjustments or errors may occur.
For this type of test, DEPRAG uses the Gaussian distribution curve.
