saw

tested
and
inspected
at
the
factory. Do
not
change
adjustments
until
careful
inspec-
tion
indicates
this
is
necessary.
Occasionally
in
shipment
. . .
or
after
the
saw
has
been
used
for
some
time
. . .
or
if
the
mitre
gauge
or
fence
has
been
dropped
...
the
settings
may
come
out
of
alignment
and
inaccuracies will occur
in
the
work.
When
this
hap-
pens
it's
easy
to
make
the
proper
adjustments
by
following
the
i
nstructions
as
outlined below.
I.
Keep
the
Blade
Sharp
and
Properly
Set
-
A
sharp
blade is
essential
for
fast
free
cutting.
When
blade
pounds; when
stock
burns,
is
hard
to
push
grabs
or
creeps,
it
's
an
indication
the
blade
is dull
or
has
lost
Jts
set.
A dull
blade
may
damage
the
saw
or
motor
an<i
in-
jure
the
operator.
Figures
21
and
22 show
the
properly
sharpened
blade
and
the
blade
that
is
dull
or
improperly
set.
KEEP
THE
BLADE SHARP
for
all
around
efficiency.

lock
nut

Screw
-
Raise
blade

highest
position
and
loosen two
set
screws
in
handwheel hub.
Using
a block
of
wood
and
ham-
mer
tap
handwheel
hub
further
onto
shaft.
Retighten
the
set
'screws
and
recheck
for
back
lash
.
Repeat
if
more
adjustment
is
required.

Turn
handwhe

until
blade
is
at
90° position - loosen
set
screws

handwheel hub.
With
a
hammer
and
block of
wood,
tap
the
handwheel
further
on
to

shaft.
Retig
hten

screws
and
check
the
arbor
assembly
for
end
play
.
Repeat
the
above
steps
if
necessary.
