The DMXking LeDMX4 MAX is a versatile LED pixel controller designed for advanced lighting installations. It supports a wide input power range of 5-24Vdc, with power for the control electronics also available via USB-C (pixel power outputs excluded). The device is available as an OEM board for integration into custom LED designs and features built-in clips for DIN rail and wall mounting.
The LeDMX4 MAX serves as a bridge between lighting control protocols (Art-Net, sACN/E1.31, DMX512) and various LED pixel types. It features four independent pixel output ports, each capable of supplying up to 8A, and two independent DC power inputs. Additionally, it includes one DMX512 IN/OUT port. The device can directly drive a wide range of LED pixel types, including WS2811, WS2812, WS2812B, WS2813, WS2815, WS2822S, UCS1903, UCS2903, UCS2912, UCS8903, UCS8904, PL9823, TM1934, APA101, SK9822, APA102, APA104, APA106, APA107, NS107, INK1002, INK1003, SM16703, SK6812, WS2801, LPD6803, LPD8806, DMX512-P, and many more compatible LED strips. It supports selectable clock/data rates for long cables or fast output.
The device can handle up to 1020 RGB pixels or 768 RGBW pixels per output, spanning six DMX universes (4080 RGB pixels / 24 universes per LeDMX4 MAX). For 16-bit pixels, it supports up to 510 RGB pixels or 384 RGBW pixels per output. It offers automatic RGB, RGBW color order correction or raw mapping options and per-pixel intensity control for APA102/SK9822 using a 5-bit current pre-regulator. A master level control operates independently of incoming universe streams.
The LeDMX4 MAX offers flexible full mapping options, allowing any start address and zig-zag corrections for RGB, RGB16, RGBW, and RGBW16 pixel types. It includes alternate full mapping and master level changeover with an sACN Priority threshold. Null pixel support is provided for longer runs to the first active pixel. The device supports Art-Net broadcast, Art-Net II,3 & 4 unicast, sACN/E1.31 Multicast, and sACN Unicast. HTP merging of two Art-Net or sACN sources is possible in any combination, as well as merging two streams of Art-Net/sACN or DMX input to a pixel universe output. sACN Priority takeover is supported for multi-tier controller arrangements, and Art-Net can be mixed and matched with sACN merge/priority sources. Users can configure Art-Net Node short and long names.
The device is fully compatible with all software and hardware that supports Art-Net I, II, 3 & 4 and sACN protocols. It works with existing consoles if Art-Net or sACN external nodes are supported.
A key feature is its recording and playback capability to a microSD card (not included), enabling standalone show playback without a computer or network connection. An internal clock with optional battery backup allows for timed playback, and NTP time sync is supported. The configuration utility provides basic Art-Net output/input test functionality.
Firmware updates are released regularly, and users are encouraged to update to the latest version for full functionality. The device includes a built-in bootloader for firmware updates. Factory reset options are available to restore the device to its default configuration or bootloader mode in case of network communication issues. The configuration utility allows saving and loading node configurations from YML files, which can also be deployed via an SD card. The DMX Display utility provides a simple interface for DMX512 testing and diagnostics, allowing users to generate Art-Net output streams and monitor channel data. Node reports offer a brief status overview, including DMX frame rates, pixel output rates, sync status, show playback selection, and recorder status.
